The Time Paradox
When I took the Time Perspective Test, I tested with a 3.9 in Past-Negative, 3.0 in Past-Positive, 2.67 in Present-Fatalistic, 3.2 in Present-Hedonistic, and 2.92 in Future. This data suggest I am mostlty a Past-Negative person, almost in the 90th percentile. Another higher category is Present-Fatalistic, with a 70th percentile. In the remaining categories, I am in the 30th percentile or lower. Overall the data suggest that I am someone who focuses on the negatives in the past.
Honestly, I agree with my results. I do tend to dwell on mistakes or bad experiences in my past. I still remember this stupid, awkward moment in the 5th grade. It is almost comical because I doubt anyone else involved remembers or even cares, it was just awkward silence ultimately, but I have flashbacks to it almost daily and it makes me feel bad. Similar situations apply to more serious bad experiences as well. So Past-Negative makes sense. I was surprised by the fact my Present-Fatalistic was relatively high as well, since I'm not the kind of guy who parties or makes stupid decisions because "yolo" (frankly, I don't like parties). However, reading into it, it does make sense as Present-Fatalistic does seem to have connections with a Past-Negative person. Some of the problems listed with Present-Fatalistic people match me as well. Without getting to serious, one problem I have is that I tend to get caught up in games and browsing the web and messing around instead of doing work thats necessary until the last minute. My other categories being relatively low makes sense as well, because I don't really feel I fit into them at all.
